Kids Kampus Christmas Program

Ely and Koa's Christmas program for their pre-school, Kids Kampus.  Putting them in pre-school has been one of the best financial decisions, parenting decisions, and health decisions we have ever made. Babysitters out here charge roughly around $12 per hour for 2 children. Consequently I never would do anything for myself and it was really starting to wear on my mental health.  If I had something dire, like a doctors appointment or something I couldn't take the kids to, it would cost me sometimes 50 bucks!  It's cheaper to put children in a pre-school, where they are learning and socializing.  I'm never not busy, and have taken advantage of them being in school. Grocery shopping alone feels like the ultimate luxury.  I now make doctors appointments for myself, hair appointments, and have occasional lunch dates while they are in school. They attend pre-school 3 days a week for 5 hours a day.  They do school, eat lunch and have a nap there.  In all honesty it was a rough transition for Ely to go from mother school ( a co-op group we did) to something more structured.  She hates the naps, and gives me push back nearly ever day we go because they make her take a nap.  I'm SO glad she is at least napping 3 times a week.  I, for the life of me have not been able to get her to nap within the past 2 years, and when I try it always ends in disaster.  For example, over Christmas break I thought I had gotten her to nap with me,  she was faking it!  After I fell asleep she opened all the presents the grandparents sent under the Christmas tree while I was napping.  She has hit so many growth spurts and I firmly believe it's because she is a better social eater and will eat better at school, and she is napping.  It wasn't until this Christmas program that she started saying she liked school, and we have less push back.  Koa on the other hand, LOVES school and hated this program!  He was so funny, and was especially clingy to mom and didn't like the audience.

The only picture I could get him to take with Santa

Ely was all about it and super excited to get a gift from Santa!

Koa was being such a pill this day, he is intentionally trying not to smile, and looking away.  We love Ms. Nimpa and all she does for Koa and his little class.  She has so much patience and gives such loving, detailed reports of their day.

Ely's teacher Mrs. Nina.  She is always so kind and encouraging to Ely.  Ely has learned Japnese and various aspects of Japanese culture from her class.
