Kyoto, Nara, Osaka- Day 4 and 5

Nara Park was my favorite part of our trip.  We had a rather rough start to our day.  After days and days of walking Ely was done with that walking(she tells people about this trip and says "we walked a so many places!").  It was about a 20-minute walk from the train station, and she cried the entire way there.  After we got on the train she was fine, and after she cried the 15-minute walk to Nara Park. Once she saw deer though, she was smitten.  It took us a little longer to get to our first destination in Nara, which was this incredible Buddhist temple, which was ok because seeing these deer really was such an incredible experience.

I've always wanted to make our way up to mainland, we probably would not have gone had I not had the encouragement from a dear friend who travels quite frequently.  It was so nice seeing someone that you connect with and share various passions with such as traveling.  My daughter still talks about Melissa because she made everyone's day this day.

Whenever I try to get a sibling picture.....

The Cherry blossom trees here were gorgeous.

I'm being extra cautious, one of the deer attacked Ely, completely unprovoked.  Poor thing was just standing there and he lifted his feet up and hit her chest, this is a different deer of course.  These are wild animals, an important thing to remember when visiting.  I loved being able to see them in person.

In Osaka we took the kids to several arcades.  It occurred to us that we never took Ely to an arcade in Okinawa, this was her first time and she loved it.  Now when we pass arcades in Okinawa it's a battle to not go in when we do not have the time.

During our time in Osaka, we took our Ely and Koa to the Children's museum.  Our pictures do not do this place justice.  It was amazing and I wish we had packed lunches and stayed for several more hours because we totally could have.  I think we were there for 3.  There were several floors, sections, and activities for the kids to play and learn.  Side note for parents traveling to Osaka who are perplexed with what to do: We considered Universal Studios or the children's museum.  I love Harry Potter and would have loved to go. I am glad we choose to do this instead.  A time will come for Universal Studios.  They won't be little like this and easily fascinated forever.  They are amazed by the simplest things, like bubbles. We spent 20 minutes in their bubble section, blowing bubbles, standing inside bubbles, creating giant bubbles.  Take the babies to the children museum while they are still fascinated with things like bubbles!

They had an impressive anatomy section

In their "Around the World" section, they have cultural dress up for your children to try on.  I believe this is Korean, and I have no clue if we did this correctly.  She sure is cute though!  They also had musical instrumentals from all over the world. It was loud!
There were these large windows with views of Osaka in them .

Osaka is BIG. Big enough to have 2 airports.  When you are inputting where to go in your google maps, make sure you are inputting the correct airport. We went to the wrong one, it was a $30 mistake, and had to anxiously take a bus to the other one an hour across town. It's funny now, not so much then!
