Another sunset, another beach. This summer has been glorious. Last summer there were several typhoons and it seemed like every time we made plans to go to the beach a typhoon would hit. This summer has been quite mild as far as rain and storms. We took some friends of ours to my favorite beach on the island, Maeda flats. There are several beaches here; I like this one so much because it feels like a little haven. It's a short hike down from the road and it's fairly secluded. The water is clear, there is some better snorkeling just down the road but you can still see some underwater life if you snorkel at this beach. I love swimming here, and watching sunsets. It's going to be a sad day when we leave Okinawa. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself if we don't go to another beach area. If you are looking for this beach put in Enzo pizza on your GPS, park by the pizza restaurant and hike down on the little dirt path.
