I had the opportunity to share most of my birthday with my girl, as Sean had work obligations he had to take care of most of the day. I love my daughter to no end all the time but there are days where my love for her just grows more than I imagined it could. This past birthday was one of those occasions. She was my little birthday buddy for the day, eating breakfast with me at one of my favorite places CC's Chicken and Waffles, walks along the sea wall, and she played so well while I laid out on my favorite beach. She truly helped make this birthday special. My FootLoose family also helped me celebrate by singing happy birthday to me. My day wouldn't be complete without dance being a part of it, after work Sean and Ely sang me happy birthday and we enjoyed cheese cake given to me by my boss and ice cream cake from Sean. I told Sean all I wanted for my birthday was Sam's by the Sea, so the next day my pregnant self was so happy with the sea food feast. It was wonderful and much needed weekend.
A little baby boy update. We had our 20 week ultrasound on the base so my doctor can review the anatomy scan of the baby. It was nice, but I am so happy we chose to have a special visit in the states and did everything there. To be honest I feel bad for first time mom's here. So many women go off base after their anatomy scan because it just isn't a special and accommodating experience on base. They made Sean wait outside for the first several minutes, baby moved and did cute and sweet things then and Sean missed it. I was a little annoyed with the whole process. Ely's 20 week was done on a military base, it was still special and Sean was there for the whole thing, they gave us a DVD with all these picture and a movie. My heart was just broken for the first time mom's that have to do it this way out here. It wasn't a big deal to me because we had already found out gender back in the states and had a wonderful experience there... anyways that is just one part of my endless rant about the health care offered out here. I haven't had the follow up with my doctor yet but he looked healthy and was measuring exactly with my due date which is a big yay! I'm staying to get an appetite again, just in time for the birthday of mine themed around foods. Also, I think we have officially agreed on a name. I may owe Sean a guitar after all is said and done, fingers crossed we have his name picked out!
