Harry Potter Quidditch Bridal Shower

This was my second time planning a bridal shower over 1,000 miles away and then having less than 24 hours to make it all come together.  Our flight might I add, on United Airlines was a complete disaster, not just the way they handled a poor situation but overall extremely poor costumer service on that, that is for a different post. We were supposed to arrive in Salt Lake City at 2pm, we ended up arriving many many hours later at 10:30 pm, to follow with a long ride back to my grandma's house putting us in bed after midnight.  That was my entire prep day for this shower, which was now gone.  In all honesty I had a few more fun projects I wanted to accomplish that simply did not get done.  We arrived in Twin Falls the following day at 3pm.  We first went to Costco and stocked up on a few things there, dropped the kids off at my Aunt's house and put my sweet baby brother to work on chicken salad sandwiches and then headed to Walmart for everything else.  Brookie and I ran, and I mean ran, through Walmart getting everything we needed.  We arrived at the hosts house (who I was meeting for the first time that day), basically bursting through her doors 30 minutes late with only 30 minutes until the party was to start.  Brookie skewered fruit kabobs and caprese  while I set up the tables and a few games.  It happened.  Nothing went wrong, we all made it alive.  I hope this is my last long distance bridal shower, but I know what I'm doing now so whats not one more?  My little brother's girlfriend is adorable and into Korean K Pop and  I would be all over that.

Kassidy, my little sister is a huge Harry Potter fan.   I also, being into Harry Potter decided to do my best to bring Hogwarts to life.  None of this was me being particularly creative, Pinterest is life, and I used my grandma's craftiness to help me.  I do love the Quidditch wreaths I worked on, they were fun.

Washington DC Visit

Before we headed out to Idaho, we made a short stop in Washington DC to visit my cousin Sierra and to see some friends.  It also happened to be Memorial Day.  Our visit up there was not intended to land on this day.  It made Washington DC a very busy place to be visiting.  It was the perfect day to visit, although rather crowded.  We stumbled upon a parade.  The first my children had seen that was quite big.  With it only be about 4 hours from us, we hope to make it up more frequently.

They were smiling so big here!

Trying to figure out where my cousin was in the sea of people.  She said she was in front of the white house, We casually were looking around and we were right in front of it.  It was quite surreal.

Fake draw strings on little boy's pants are the worst to deal with!

 Remembering the fallen.

It was a really sunny day!

A quick visit to Cousin Sierra's apartment.  She is currently attending John Hopkins!  We are so proud and glad our children have such a positive example to look up to.

Our flight the next day, 6 am at the airport.
