Sakura and Lantern Festivals

Spring is such a tease in Okinawa, some days are beautiful, others are freezing!  Some days you get both, no wonder we get sick so frequently.  A couple of Thursdays ago we went with our adventure group to look at cherry blossoms.  A few days later our family went to the lantern festival at Murasaki Mura. My soul needs these adventures, for my mental health and joy.  I'm glad there are a few adventurous ladies who do these things as a group so we have company to discover these beautiful parts of the island.  I'm glad my husband wants to do them just as much as I do and that he understands my wanderlust and need to progressively find new and exciting things.

The Castle ruins in Nago, we visited last year around the same time.   The blossoms are not as vibrant here as they are at Mt. Yaedake, but this is definitely more child friendly.

She had just fallen and broken a tooth a few moments before and we didn't even notice it until we got to the car. She looks so undisturbed here, my child's resilience amazes me.  This is exactly why she goes from being fine to extremely sick because her positive, energetic attitude would never tell you otherwise.

Mt. Yaedake, there isn't really a place to walk and enjoy the blossoms, you park your car and view them on the side of the road.  I imagine this is fine if you don't have small children.  It can be difficult if you have a toddler that wants to play and run around, it just isn't as safe.

This was taken by a charming little cafe we had crepes at, I decided that if I want to see cherry blossoms again I will just come here, it had a beautiful little garden attached and was safer than standing on the side of the road.  Here is the link with the directions http://okinawahai.com/yachimun-cafe/

Lantern Festival at Murasaki Mura, this place seemed pretty neat to explore during the day another to do for the future.

I'm finally able to feel baby boy move!  I felt Ely move frequently before my 20 week ultrasound.  When I had my ultrasound in the states she told us there was a posterior placenta and that I wouldn't feel baby move for while.  To be honest this has been so discouraging because I begin bonding with my babies more so when I can feel them move.  The other day he kicked my hand every time I placed it on my belly acknowledging that it was there.  It's nice to be able to get an occasional reassurance that baby is doing well.  I'm glad that I blogged during my pregnancy with Ely so I can read about things that were going on then, I feel things happening faster this time (other than this) and feel like this pregnancy is both so long and yet at the same time flying by.
