Halloween 2016

And.. its almost Thanksgiving and I am just barely getting our Halloween pictures up.  We all had scratchy throats going out that evening and sure enough, the next day we were all sick.  It has taken me a while to go organized enough to get photos up from the past 2 months.

Pooh's Pancake Party

I'm a few days late in posting these, after all of the Halloween chaos we have recovered with colds so things have been extra slow on our end.  Before having children I always said that I wouldn't ever throw a birthday party for a child younger than 4 because they wouldn't remember it and reserve those birthdays just for family and extended family.  Well, our lives have turned out a bit differently than I imagined and our extended family is over an ocean.  I wanted Ely to have friends to play with, she would prefer playing with friends over just about anything.  If we have more children, I'll probably throw them a small party when they are 2 as well. It's funny how parenthood makes you retract all the things you said when you were young and too cool for school.  

Being an almost Halloween baby I knew we would be competing with all of the Halloween parties in the evening... so we had breakfast and I think it might become a regular thing until she's old enough to want parties in the evening.   Ely loves Winnie the Pooh and was going to be Pooh Bear for Halloween, so we decided to combine her party and her costume.  We recycled the decorations and used them at our ward trunk or treat, but other than that she probably could have cared less, she was way more excited about having friends over.  Things to remember for the future.  She did love dressing up like Pooh Bear every time she had the chance.  It was a fun way to celebrate and I'm grateful for all the friends who came and made her day special!
