I knew "life as we know it" would change when we had a baby. I thought that we wouldn't ever go out on dates and that we would stay cooped up most of the time. Life has changed, and we don't go out every weekend, but it doesn't mean that we don't go out at all. I know every child is different, and maybe it might be more difficult for us to go out when we have more children or when she is older and more squirmy, but for the most part we are still able to go on dates together and spend some time together with her there. We took her with us on our Valentines date tonight and still had just as lovely as a night together as we did every other Valentine's Day date we have had. She slept for most of our dinner and towards the end she woke up, I fed her and she was a happy baby. We use to be intimidated with the idea of taking her out in public, out of fear she would scream and then we would get the dirty looks from people. Now I'm really not as nervous. It is kind of incredible how you build a routine and an understanding of your child (knock on wood). She does surprise me sometimes, for instance, she recently started this thing where she thinks 4 am is just the time to be awake for the day. What happened to my good little sleeper that would just sleep straight through the night? I'm hoping we get that routine back!
This Valentine's season Ely has gotten her own little Valentine's in the mail. It is really neat to see your child's name appear on different letters and documents when they are such new little humans. I remember the first time seeing her name written out a few days after she was born, acknowledging that she has a place here on this earth. Thank you to the friends and family that have sent her letters and cards. I'm incredibly nostalgic and have already compiled a little place to keep all of those things for her to look at when she gets older. Here are some Valentines day pictures, my gorgeous girl is already 3 months!
